The BJP managed to win the maximum votes and emerge as the party with the single largest majority in Karnataka but lost to the game of numbers when the other two parties who got majority votes (Congress and JDS) announced an alliance to form the government.
Speaking to the press about the election results, BJP President Amit Shah questioned why the JDS is even celebrating its victory? “Fot getting 37 seats compared to the 104 seats of ours?” he asked. He said that the BJP had not lost as being a single majority means that most of the people believe in their party.
He also took a dig at the Congress-JD (S) alliance. “This decision will not be favored by the Kannada people. They have betrayed the people together by presenting false information and cheap politics. Their combination is disastrous and Karnataka will soon see the results of an improper alliance” he stated.
