Members of the Backward Class (BC) Welfare Association met AP Opposition leader and YSRCP president YS Jagan at his Lotus Pond residence in Hyderabad yesterday.
The BC Welfare Association led by national president R Krishnaiah sought YS Jagan’s support for the introduction of the BC Bill in the Parliament.
The BC Association appealed YSRCP and YS Jagan to include their demands in his party manifesto for the upcoming AP assembly and LS elections.
The BC association demanded that BC reservation should be increased from the current 34 per cent to 50 per cent and a law should be passed to give constitutional validity to reservations.
YS Jagan is said to have responded positively to the demands of the BC association. YSRCP leaders like Gujja Krishna, E Sathyanarayana, Neela Venkatesh, Dasu Suresh, Bojja Ramesh, Bullet Ramesh, Rajender, Gurram Srinivas, Sagar, Vemula Ramakrishna, TR Chander, Naresh Goud, Athaiah and others were also present at the meeting.
