NTR-Kathanayakudu had a worldwide release yesterday and opened to mixed reviews. While NTR loyalists and Balakrishna fans lauded this film, filmgoers and critics had varying opinions regarding this film.
What is interesting to note that the collection of a dubbed Telugu film like KGF is still managing to hold on to its success despite films like NTR Kathanayakudu. In Hyderabad RTC X Roads today, the matinee show of KGF playing in Shanti Theatre (Narayanaguda) on its 20th day, collected Rs 14051. On the other hand, NTR Biopic was also playing at RTC X Roads in Taraka Rama Theatre and its second-day collections were Rs 11274.
Considering that NTR Biopic was released yesterday, mid-week on a Wednesday, film and box office analysts will have to wait and observe whether Kathanayakudu’s collections would pick up over the Sankranthi weekend.
Meanwhile, two other big-ticket films are scheduled to release over the weekend as well. Ram Charan’s VVR releases tomorrow on Jan 11th while the Venkatesh and Varun Tej starrer F2 releases on 12th as well.
