In a written letter to the Prime Minister, AP CM Chandra Babu objected the case of Jagan’s knife attack in the Vizag airport to be handed over to the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) for investigation.

In his letter he wrote, “I am constrained to express my concern at the manner in which Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India issued orders directing the investigation by NIA in connection with the attack on Jagan Mohan Reddy at Visakhapatnam Airport on 25 October 2018. NIA is supposed to deal with genuine terrorist activities and not baseless cases like this.”

Recalling PM Modi’s period as the CM of Gujarat, he said Modi had always objected the handing over of state cases to NIA and hence he should be able to exercise the same authority.
