The Congress party had a forgettable run in Andhra Pradesh during the 2014 general elections as the party failed to win even a single MLA ticket in the state.
Speaking at a recent media interaction, the party’s regional president, Raghuveera Reddy said that the party will be assigning special category status to Andhra Pradesh. Also, he added that they will waive off farmer loans upto Rs 2 lakhs.
Sadly, the party does not have the cadre or following to take these promises into the public. As a result, the party’s manifesto is not reaching a majority of the public.
Well, it needs to be said that Congress party needs a leader like Chandrababu now. Babu has excelled the trade of marketing and publicizing over the years and his political strategies are quite efficient as well.
The yellow party chief turned the tide in his favor during 2014 elections by saying that TDP will waive off each and every farmer loan, which was later capped at 1.5 lakhs. He can repeat a similar feat in 2019 if he gets considerable help from a national party, which could be Congress in this case.
Now that the Congress party formed an alliance with TDP in Telangana, a potential alliance in Andhra Pradesh is very much on cards.
