The much awaited NTR-Kathanayakudu was released worldwide on 9thJan but the turnout on the first day was much less than the expected numbers, especially in Andhra.
According to sources, many theatres did not fill up even after the initial talk for the film was good. It received great appraisal from the Nandamuri-TDP supporters but the biopic of legendary NTR failed to attract the general audience. The scenario in Andhra was reportedly much worse than Telangana.
The film’s distributors are very much worried about the response on the first day as the turnout might decrease drastically if the upcoming releases like VVR, Peta and F2 are hit at the box office.
Reportedly, upon the assertion of TDP leaders and supporters the distributoes in Andhra have bought the rights of the film at unbelievable prices and are scared of going to huge losses after a disappointing turnout on the first day.
