Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Bannerjee stated that it was the combined strength of the federal front that led to the loss of BJP in the by-elections that happened across the country.
Speaking at a press conference, she said, “This marks the end for BJP. People are tired of its wrong politics. And losing in its own constituency in UP marks the start of their bad days. This will repeat in the 2019 elections as the regional parties have strengthened like never before.”
The results of the by-elections held in several states in the country showed little hope for BJP, as it couldn’t manage to win more than one seat in Maharashtra and one seat in Uttarakhand. This indicates the slow loss of BJP’s grip across the several states in the country.
