In a shocking turn of events, the Visakhapatnam police have revealed that the Maoists had sent a letter to the government warning to kill Araku MLA Kidari Sarveshwar Rao but reportedly, the police could not keep track of the politician’s movements and it led to his killing.
Speaking to the media, the police alleged that they had sent notices to the government and both the politicians to stay aware and that they were the prime targets of the Maoists and stressed to beef up their security. But apparently, the politicians didn’t take their word seriously and went to the function without any prior notice to the police department.
But Paderu MLA and a relative of the deceased, Giddi Eswari asserted that they have received no such letter from the Maoists. She also claimed that the Araku MLA had informef the police about his visit but they had provided no special protection like they usually do. She blamed the police’s negligence for the death of the two politicians.
