Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest movie, Kaala is running on a below-par buzz when compared to a typical Rajinikanth Mass Masala entertainer. The makers tried to set things right by releasing a power-packed trailer of the movie to get things on track with just over a week left for the release of the movie. Sadly, the trailer could not gather the required amount of appreciation or hype from the movie-goers.
The trailer starts off on the right note where we see an energetic Rajini who sets the screen ablaze with his trademark mannerisms and attitude. However, this energy does not last long as a dose of romance, disputes and the core plot of the movie go on at a brisk pace. If the director intended to stuff in all this content he should have gone for a 3-minute trailer instead of a clip that barely lasts for 90 seconds.
Another sad aspect is that the intensity builds up towards the end of the trailer and just when everyone expects a Rajini-mark dialogue, a dull and serious dialogue tampers the ending part. All in all, Kaala’s trailer kicks off on the right note, but it gets a bit patchy and ends on a really dull note.
