The incoming reports from BCCI are suggesting a disappointing news to the fans of Indian cricket team. It is being reported that Virat Kohli has injured himself in this year’s IPL. The star player has been diagnosed with a disc injury and that may keep him away from flying to England for playing county cricket.
Apparently, the doctors have adviced Kohli to skip the preparations and take some rest before the England test series that is set to be played in August. If these reports are anything to go by, Kohli will not be able to play county cricket which he was intending to do as a part of preparations for the lengthy series.
In the past, team India has struggled in overseas conditions as our players always find it tough to calculate the swinging conditions and put up below par performances. The captain was looking to set things right by getting used to the tricky conditions well before the start of the series. Sadly, that will not be the case now.
This is surely a big blow to team India as Kohli is a world-class batsman and his form can single-handedly decide the fate of the entire series. There is a chance that even he may struggle to register solid numbers if he fails to adapt to the conditions quickly enough.
