Akkineni Akhil’s romantic entertainer, Mr.Majnu created a positive buzz among the audience with its impressive promos and audio album. Directed by Venky Atluri, the film has hit the screens today. Let’s check whether this film gives Akhil the much-awaited success or not.
Nicky(Niddhi Agerwal), a simple girl falls for a passionate guy Vicky (Akhil Akkineni) despite knowing his weakness for women. But a few ideological differences between them leads to break up. Rest of the story is how Vicky tries to win back Nikki’s love. In spite of knowing Vicky’s nature will Nikki accepts Vicky’s proposal? What is the conflict point between the lead pair? To know this, you will have to watch the film in a theatre near you.
Director Venky Atluri, who impressed with his first outing, Tholiprema has come up with yet another love story by lacing enough family emotions in it. Though Venky tried to narrate the film as a new-age love story, lack of an interesting plotline and unconvincing screenplay may not go well with all sections of the audience.
Hero Akhil Akkineni has done his part perfectly by giving whatever is needed for the film from his side. His dance moves and stylish looks are an added advantage to the film. Heroine Niddhi got a meaty role in which she delivered an impressive performance.
Comedians Priyadarshi and Hyper Aadhi evoke decent laughs at regular intervals in both the halves. Other artists, who are seen as the lead pair’s family members are okay in their roles. Three songs are visually good on the screen.
Chemistry between the lead pair
Akhil’s charming looks
A few dragged scenes in the latter half
Artificial family emotions
All in all, Mr.Majnu is a stylish flick which has a good first half and formulaic proceedings in the second half. Though Akhil and Niddhi impress with their performances, director Venky’s narration falls flat with predictable proceedings towards the climax. Those who love watching new-age love stories can give this film a try over the weekend.
