The Telugu speaking states, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have stood in 2nd and 4th positions respectively in the list of most corrupt states in India. Interestingly, TRS government in Telangana claims that the state is seeing massive progress in the fields of IT and Infra. However, the ground reality is completely different.
As per CMS- India Corruption 2018 report, 73% of households in Telangana have admitted that they have bribed government officials to get things done. A major reason for this scenario is the involvement of agents and middlemen in all government-related fields. Telangana IT minister, K Taraka Rama Rao who constantly claims that the state is developing like never before, should look into the issue, opine netizens.
On the other hand, Andhra Pradesh stood 4th on the list. The chief minister of AP. Chandra Babu, who is known for implementing the latest technologies into government administration should take proper care of the ground level corruption. The government has been claiming that they have digitalized every government record( Land details, Crop loan details, etc.) in order to eliminate corruption, but the reality is far from that.
Interestingly, another South Indian state, Tamil Nadu came on top of the list. The Tamil state is already struggling with uncertainty in the state government and these corruption cases can only worsen the situation. It needs to be seen if Kamal Hassan or Rajinikanth can have any impact on the core level development of the state.
