Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest action drama, Kaala got off to a dull start but put up decent numbers on the second day. Just when everyone thought the movie will pick up the pace, the footfalls at the theaters have been declining quickly. The trade reports suggest that Kaala may end up as a huge disaster in Telugu and a flop in Tamil Nadu.
Reportedly, the theatrical rights of Kaala were valued at Rs 27 crores(AP). However, the trade reporters are claiming that the movie collected a share of just Rs 7 crores in its 5-day run. At this rate, the movie will find it tough to recover even 30% of the investments laid on it.
These are warning bells for Rajinikanth who is awaiting the release of his high budgeted Robo 2.0. The movie is being made on a budget of Rs 400 crores and it would be an astronomical task for the buyers to see benefits for this movie if it fails to pack a punch.
