It is well-known that Telugu Desam Party takes the Mahanadu very seriously and makes grand arrangements, owing to the buzz and intensity around the event. As expected, TDP made sure that this year’s Mahanadu looks rich and appealing as well. Sadly, TDP opted for a different treatment to this year’s event.
A few years back, Mahanadu was all about celebrating the heritage of the party and was held with great respect towards its founder Sr NTR. The party leaders saw this is a get-together event and a proper platform to discuss the status of the party in various constituencies. Sadly, that is not the case anymore.
Going by the latest reports, TDP leaders are using Mahanadu as a platform to criticise their political opponents and make allegations against them. Chandra Babu himself has lost the plot and started breathing fore against Modi, Amit Shah, Pawan Kalyan, and Jagan. Even other TDP leaders followed their supremo and went all out on the opposition parties in the state. Speaking against opponents is an acceptable procedure, but making it a sole agenda in the most prestigious event held by the party is a bad idea.
TDP could have held a political meet instead of Mahanadu if their main intention was to criticise the opponents. If this continues in the future, the cultural and historical prominence of Mahanadu will hit new lows, opine political followers.
