Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandra Babu is looking to fulfill one of the many promises he made during the 2014 election campaign. As per reports, the TDP government will be rolling out the unemployment allowance scheme in a week or two.
Apparently, the government will be paying a sum of Rs 1000 for over 10 lakh unemployed individuals in the state. However, going by the manifesto TDP presented during 2014 elections, the yellow party clearly stated that they will be paying Rs 2000 as an allowance to every individual. The government later said that the financial condition is not stable and that is stopping them from implementing the scheme.
The big question is, What sort of use will Rs 1000 be to an unemployed individual? At a time when a 25 KG rice bag is costing somewhere around Rs 900, the allowance will be of very little use. On the top of that, the government has started boasting about the scheme, holding a few advertisement programmes. It needs to be seen if the unemployed individuals will be satisfied with the latest scheme implemented by the TDP government.
