Andhra Pradesh opposition leader, YS Jagan is busy strengthening his party, YSRCP in the Uttharanadhra region, where it had a forgettable campaign in the last elections.
If the latest reports are anything to go by, it looks like Jagan may have to lay out strategies for Telangana elections as well.
Reportedly, YCP leaders in Telangana have advised Jagan to make sure that the party contests in at least 25-30 constituencies in the coming elections. They claimed that the party has a considerable vote bank in a few key areas like Hyderabad, Randa Reddy, and Khammam.
If Jagan takes all this into consideration and decides to contest in the following elections, it will be a big move from the party.
Well, YCP may not win a notable number of MLA or MP seats but the party will most certainly split the vote share in these constituencies.
YSR loyalists may side with Jagan and that will take a toll on TDP-Congress alliance’s vote share. These parties have been banking big on anti-TRS votes and may lose out a chunk of them to YCP in these constituencies. If this turns to reality, it will be helping TRS candidates indirectly as a split in public backlash votes will dilute the power of the opposition.
Nothing is confirmed as of now, but the party forces have been claiming that Jagan will make a big decision regarding the same after Dusserah.
The elections in Telangana are set to be held on December 7th and the counting will be held on 11th.
