Yeddyurappa entered the record books after staying in the chief minister post for just 3 days. The BJP found it tough to gather the required number of MLAs and Yeddyurappa was left with no other option but resign his post and step down. As a result, Kumaraswamy is taking charge as the chief minister of Karnataka and is expected to prove the majority in the house.
Speaking about the Congress-JDS alliance, Yeddy said that the government will not last for more than 3 months as they do not have the public support. Interestingly, there were rumors that BJP will be doing all it can to unstabilize the government in Karnataka. They feared a public backlash if they had bought other party MLAs and prove the majority in the assembly. This was the sole reason why BJP did not form the government in the Kannada state.
With Yeddyurappa’s latest statements, it is clear that BJP has already prepared a master plan to bring down the Congress-JDS government as they just managed to cross the magic figure by 4 members. This may be one of the main reasons why BJP did not go for the floor test as well. All in all, it looks like Yeddy has given away a massive leak about the future developments in Karnataka politics.
