Choreographer Saroj Khan passes away after cardiac arrest at 71

The year of 2020 is turning out to be very tragic for Bollywood, with legendary actors and film personalities passing away. It started with the passing of Irrfan Khan, followed by Rishi Kapoor, then Sushanth Singh Rajput, and now Saroj Khan.

Born as Nirmala Nagpal, Saroj Khan’s career spanned more than 40 years in the industry. She choreographed more than 4000 songs, and has collaborated the most with Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit.

Saroj Khan first rose to prominence when she choreographed Sridevi’s Hawa Hawaii song in Mr. India. Ever since then, there has been no looking back for Saroj Khan, and she went on to work with actresses of every generation. Starting with Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit, Saroj Khan worked with Aishwarya Rai, Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan and even Ananya Panday.

Saroj Khan’s most famous songs include Ek Do Teen, Hum Ko Aaj Kal Hai Intezaar, Dhak Dhak Karne Laga, Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai, Tamma Tamma and many others.
