Trendy director Puri Jagannadh and hero Ram’s latest outing, iSmart Shankar, is minting superb revenues at the box office. By the end of its 3-day run at the ticket windows, the film has collected close to 35 crores gross.
Meanwhile, the latest news is that the film has entered into profits zone in Nizam area by collecting over Rs 7.3 crores in just three days. Noted producer cum distributor Abishek Nama, who grabbed the film’s Nizam rights for 6.5 crores on NRA (non recoverable advance) basis, is expected to witness huge profits by the end of iSmart Shankar’s full run.
Now, the interesting news is that top producer Dil Raju, who actually planned to acquire iSmart Shankar’s Nizam rights, had backed off in the last minute. Going into the past, Dil Raju had burnt his hands by buying Puri’s last release, Mehbooba, which ended up as a disaster at the box office. Keeping that movie’s result in mind, Raju opted out of the race and it helped Abishek Nama to grab iSmart Shankar.
In the film industry, luck matters a lot and the tally sheet for each film will be different from the other. Calculative producer Dil Raju must be worrying now.
