A few days back, it was said that the satellite rights of KGF 2 fetched Rs 120 crores. The digital rights are apparently being sold for another Rs 50 crores. The film is making close to Rs 200 crores through non-theatrical rights itself.
The latest news is that the makers of the Yash-starrer are demanding around Rs 40 crores for the Telugu theatrical rights of the film. This is a highly ambitious quote for a dubbing film. The buzz around KGF 2 is exceptionally high and that could be the reason why the producers are hopeful it would mint big bucks.
Varahi Productions acquired the rights of KGF Telugu version and made big profits. They are the front-runners to bag the rights of KGF 2 as well, but they are not willing to match the high asking price for now.
KGF 2 is expected to hit the silver screens this year and will register strong openings across the country. The pre-release business of the film is likely to be on an astonishing level.
