Superstar Mahesh Babu and Jagapathi Babu first worked together on Srimanthudu as father and son. They united once again for last year’s Maharshi.
The two actors would have worked once again, if not for Mahesh Babu. Director Anil Ravipudi wanted to cast Jagapathi Babu as the antagonist in Sarileru Neekevvaru initially. Jagapathi babu had even given dates for the film, but then everything changed.
Mahesh Babu is said to have intervened and forced Anil Ravipudi to cast Prakash Raj instead of Jagapathi Babu. While SLN is a good entertainer, one cannot help but point out that Prakash Raj’s performance was dull and boring. He delivered a monotonous performance that we have already seen him do numerous times.
Even the train episode in the movie felt like a drag, and Prakash Raj’s character was very flat. It would have been definitely interesting to see Jagapathi Babu in that place. Rumors are now afloat that Mahesh and Jagapathi Babu are not on great terms after this disagreement.
Will the two actors patch up and work things, or will this cold war continue? Only time can tell.
