Superstar Mahesh Babu enjoys a huge following among the overseas audience which has been proved many a time. He is the first among our Telugu heroes to open overseas market with films like Athadu and Pokiri and has been called as the undisputed king in the overseas.

But things have changed drastically in the last year or so. His latest film, Sarileru Neekevvaru was released in the US with the ticket pricing of $20 and Allu Arjun-Trivikram’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo was released with just $14 per ticket.

But surprisingly, with almost 25% of ticket price being less than Sarileru, AVPL collected more than $3 million at the US box office and emerged victoriously. But Mahesh’s Sarileru has struggled to breach a 2 million mark.

As the box office run for both the films has almost come to an end, the trade is drawing comparisons between both the films and are showcasing Sarileru’s underperformance as the decline of Mahesh Babu’s craze in the US.

There was a time when Mahesh’s films did not do well back home, they had a minimum guarantee in the overseas. But with this film, things have changed. Is Mahesh losing his top position in the US market? Can one film change to fortunes of a star like Mahesh Babu? Only time will tell what will happen.
