While Mahesh Babu’s Sarileru Neekevvaru released yesterday, January 11th, Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo hit the big screens today, January 12th. These are two of the most anticipated films of the year.
Sarileru Neekevvaru has adequate commercial elements which will keep the B and C center audience engaged. On the other hand, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is aimed at A center and multiplex audience.
In terms of reviews, and word of mouth, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo has an edge over Sarileru Neekevvaru. Ace filmmaker Trivikram laced Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo with comedy sequences and stylist making.
Sarileru Neekevvaru is more of a commercial potboiler which showcases Mahesh in a hyper role. He shoulders the film and stands as the biggest asset of the film.
To find out the real Sankranthi winner, we will have to wait for at least another week. The box office performance of these two films will decide which of them is the real winner.
Meanwhile, Darbar which released on January 9th had a decent opening day, but it might not have a great run during the holiday season as both Sarileru Neekevvaru and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo opened to positive response.
Kalyan Ram’s Entha Manchivadavura is the next notable film which will release this Sankranthi season. It will be out on January 15th.
