The Maharashtra government gave permission to run theatres at 50% occupancy form today, which gave a major boost to other film industries in the country. On the other hand, while the rest of the film industries in the country were in a dilemma about reopening theatres at the beginning of this year, Tollywood was releasing back to back films, which were minting money at the box office.
Currently, the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are still in a state of partial lockdown. Sources reveal that further relaxations would be given in Telangana from June 11th, considering that the number of cases in Telangana has decreased drastically. It is being expected that theatres will be back in full swing, at 100% occupancy, from the first of July.
However, this is not expected to be the case in Andhra Pradesh, given that the situation in Andhra Pradesh is still a bit grim. On the whole, Tollywood is hoping to get back to work from June itself.
