Released last Friday, big-budget Bollywood magnum opus, Panipat starring Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in the prominent roles opened to a positive word of mouth. But surprisingly, the film is underperforming from the first day itself.
As per the trade reports, until yesterday, the film has just collected Rs 23 crores (Nett) at the Indian box office which is quite a shocking number considering the word of mouth. Senior analysts opined that though Panipat is a good film, it is failing to compete with Kartik Aaryan’s comedy crapper, Pati Patni Aur Woh which is unstoppable at the ticket windows.
On the other hand, feedback from all quarters suggests that the lack of heroism in Arjun Kapoor’s Bajirao’s character is also a reason for the audience neglecting it. Whatever may be the reason, Panipat is struggling to gain momentum.
