The YCP government has been dropping subtle hints that it will not be continuing Amaravati as the capital of Andhra Pradesh. Botcha Sathyanarayana and Ambati Rambabu’s comments were indications of the same.
The latest news is that GN Rao committee, which was appointed to identify the optimal place to build the new capital, has passed a few key orders.
Reportedly, this committee is currently touring in Kurnool district and they have asked concerned officials to develop a permanent water distribution system all across the district.
Also, the committee has asked government officials to prepare lands near the airport for future use. Rumors are rife that the committee has decided to suggest Kurnool as the new capital of Andhra Pradesh. We need to wait and see if this speculation will turn out to be true.
