Andhra Pradesh local body elections are set to be held next month and the state government is prepping up for the same.
The chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy called for a high-level meeting today to discuss about the election process.
Jagan met with the state home minister, DGP, advocate general, and other higher officials. Key topics like security, Covid-19 situation, and the ways in which the virus spread can be contained while holding the election came to discussion.
There are reports claiming that the state election commission might be using central government employees for the election process and this will be another key factor.
The last date for nominations filing process is 5th February and the ruling party forces are expected to finalize the candidates by then.
TDP, Janasena and BJP are preparing for the election as well. State Election Commission officer Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar will be supervising the entire process.
