If the latest reports are to be believed, Bharathiya Janatha Party is trying its best to lure team India former cricketer Sourav Ganguly into joining their party.
Ganguly was appointed as the BCCI president very recently and it is being said that BJP bigwigs were behind this.
Reportedly, BJP is trying to project Ganguly as the face of the party in West Bengal and develop him as a strong political force. He might emerge as a strong opponent of Mamatha Banerjee if BJP’s plan works out.
BJP is even ready to make Ganguly its chief minister candidate in West Bengal if he wishes to join the party, say reports.
Notably, another team India former cricketer, Gautam Gambhir joined in BJP prior to the election. He was elected as an MP from Delhi.
