As per latest flash reports, YSRCP Tirupati constituency MP Balli Durga Prasad has died due to Covid-19. He had contracted the virus a few days back and his health condition has been deteriorating ever since.
Durga Prasad was being treated at a private hospital in Chennai where he succumbed to the virus.
The chief minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed his distress over the demise of his party leader. Jagan personally called Durga Prasad’s family members and spoke with them through the phone.
Durga Prasad is the first mainstream politician to have succumbed to coronavirus.
Durga Prasad started his political journey in 1985. He was aged 28 at the time of his political entry and went on to become an MLA soon after. He even served as a cabinet minister during Chandrababu’s tenure back then. He joined YCP before the 2019 election and won as MP from Tirupati.
