Telugu Desam Party chief Chandrababu Naidu announced that his party will not be contesting in the coming MPTC and ZPTC elections. He said the ruling party YSRC is misusing its power to win the election and that is the reason why his party is boycotting the elections.
Well, Chandrababu‘a decision is receiving the worst possible response from TDP supporters and cadre alike.
“Winning and losing in elections is common. But not contesting in the election altogether is against the spirit of democracy. We don’t understand why Chandrababu is boycotting the election,” said a few TDP followers on social media.
Incidentally, TDP Vice President Jyothula Nehru has resigned the post after Chandrababu announced the party won’t be contesting in the election.
It appears to be that Naidu’s controversial decision to avoid MPTC and ZPTC elections might well mark the end of TDP which is already facing existential crisis. Many TDP leaders who have been waiting for the right reason and time to leave the party will make the most of Naidu’s mishap and switch loyalties.
