Coronavirus: Andhra Pradesh reports a record number of cases in a single day

The state of Andhra Pradesh reported a record number of cases in a single day, with 1,555 new positive cases in the last 24 hours. A total of 1,322 new cases were the highest number of cases that were reported in a single day previously.

The total number of cases has now reached 23,814 in Andhra Pradesh. This includes 55 people who have returned from elsewhere.

All 13 districts of the state reported fresh cases with the highest number of cases recorded in the Chittoor district, with 236 new cases. It is followed by Guntur (228), Visakhapatnam (208) and Srikakulam (206), Krishna (127), and Kadapa (114)

The state of Andhra Pradesh has conducted tests on 27,743 samples by Wednesday morning, and the recovery rate remained to be impressive with 904 persons having been discharged from hospitals in the last one day.

A total of 11,383 people are still being treated for the virus, while a total of 12,154 people have been discharged.

Additionally, 13 new deaths were reported from different parts of the state, in the last 24 hours. Kurnool and Guntur reported the highest number of deaths, with three each, followed by two deaths each in Anantapur and Prakasam districts. Similarly, one death each was reported from Krishna, West Godavari, and Chittoor, districts. The overall death toll in Andhra Pradesh has now reached 277.
