Coronavirus: India crosses 9 Lakh cases, WHO says situation getting worse

More than 28,000 cases have been reported in the last 24 hours, in India. The death toll has also increased by 553 cases in the last 24 hours. This has taken the total number of cases to the mark of 9.06 Lakhs.

WHO director Tedros has said that the virus is getting worse by the day, and many countries are going in the wrong direction, with regards to the way they are handling the virus. He has called for all the countries to come up with strategies that would reduce the spreading of the virus, and would improve the situation in the world.

Glenmark has said that it would be cutting the price of its generic version of Favipiravir, Fabiflu, to Rs. 75 per dose, so that it can reach more number of people.

On the other hand, India now has 3,11,565 active coronavirus cases 5,71,460 people have recovered among the total of 9.06 lakh cases. India’s COVID death toll now stands at 23,727.
