The hunt for a vaccine for Coronavirus is still very much on, and the end doesn’t seem to be so near to it anytime soon. However, the world is slowly starting to get back to some semblance of normalcy, although it is still very much at rest.
Dr Sanjay Rai, head of the Community Medicine Department at AIIMS-Delhi, recently said that India would get back to total normalcy by mid-2021, whether or not a vaccine is in place by then.
He also said that the phase 2 clinical trial for Covid-19 vaccine is underway in India, with 600 volunteers participating in the trial.
On the other hand, the vaccine developed by Oxford University has been put on hold for now, after a volunteer developed severe side effects.
As of now, there’s no clarity over when the world will get an effective vaccine.
