India is continuing to witness a steep increase in the number of Coronavirus cases in the country. Judging by the rate at which the cases are rising, they don’t seem to reduce any time soon.
The last 24 hours saw the biggest jump, with more than 20,000 cases, making it the worst day so far. With 20,903 new cases, the total number of cases in India stand at 6,25,544. The death toll has gone up to 18,213, with 379 fatalities in thr last 24 hours.
On the other hand, the rate of recovery has gone up in the country, with a record number of recoveries being reported in the last 24 hours. The total number of recoveries now stand at 3,79,891, out of which 20,032 recoveries came from just the last 24 hours. The recovery rate has now gone up to 60.72%.
The total number of active cases now stand at 2,27,439, and the difference between the number of active and recovered cases is an impressive 1,52,452.
The ICMR has also said that over 90 Lakh cases were conducted in the last 24 hours, and more than 2,29,588 samples were tested.
