Coronavirus: The sad state of Telangana, and why it’s troublesome

The state of Telangana is once again considering a total lockdown in the state, as the situation of Coronavirus is becoming worse. Telangana has reported a total of more than 14,000 cases so far, and the numbers are just rising.

Even Andhra Pradesh is not far behind Telangana, with more than 13,000 cases, but AP is definitely in a better position. This is because the government of AP is conducting a minimum of 20,000 tests per day, and is reporting the number of cases on that day.

On the other hand, the government of Telangana is not even conducting 5,000 tests in a single day. The current testing has also been paused in the state to clear the backlog samples that haven’t been tested yet.

The current situation in the state is so grim that imposing a total lockdown won’t ease up the situation, only more testing will give a clear picture. Only more testing will really tell how bad Telangana has it.

If the state doesn’t conduct enough tests even now, then the situation will get out of hands very soon.
