The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence recovered 14kg of smuggled gold in Rajiv Gandhi International Airport yesterday.
The gold was found in two pipes carefully concealed with adhesive tapes, under the seats of Air India Aircraft. The flight had just landed from Dubai.
The two suspects were from South Korea and China, and are already two suspected foreign nationals. There were 112 bars of 24Karat gold.
When the suspects were asked to provide documents to prove that they purchased it, they were not able to produce any documents, and were taken into immediate custody.
