Bharatiya Janata party Andhra Pradesh wing president Somu Veerraju has suspended Velagapudi Gopalakrishna who is one of the senior leaders in the party.
Gopalakrishna recently spoke in favour of Amaravati and that is cited as the reason why he was suspended by the party.
BJP has already made it clear that the party is willing to support the YCP government’s decision to develop three capitals in Andhra Pradesh. The fact that the party suspended a leader for his pro-Amaravati stand confirms the same.
The central government has announced that it will not be involving with the state government’s decision to develop three capitals. BJP Andhra Pradesh wing has been related comments for a while now.
Interesting enough, Janasena which is in alliance with BJP has been urging the state government to continue Amaravati as the capital. It remains to be seen how BJP will deal with this.
