Following the defeat to Rajasthan Royals two days ago, Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni has been facing stern criticism on social media.
Interestingly enough, cricket analysts Gautam Gambhir, Kevin Pietersen, and Sunil Gavaskar criticised Dhoni for the poor show in the previous game.
“While chasing a target of 217, coming to bat at 7th down is poor leadership. Hitting 3 sixers in the final over is useless. Dhoni should come in at 4th or 5th down and built a partnership with Du Plessis,” team India former cricketer Gambhir said.
“I simply don’t understand why Dhoni sent a debutante (Ruthuraj) while the required run rate was creeping up. He should have batted up the order,” Sunil Gavaskar said.
“Mahi(Dhoni) should wake up at least now. He should create match-winning situations all by himself rather than depending on others,” Kevin Pietersen said.
Notably, Dhoni said it wasn’t easy to come in and bat freely at his been a long time since he played competitive cricket.
Chennai Super Kings will be facing Delhi Capitals tomorrow, September 25th.
