The Indian Premier League will be commencing in two days time and cricket fans across the globe could not have been more excited. The first match of the tournament will be played between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings on September 19th.

The opening game is always a tough affair for the both the teams involved and Mumbai and Chennai will be no exception to the same.

Reading the pitch and assessing the playing conditions will be a really tough task. Given the fact that Mumbai and Chennai will be taking on each other in the first game, they will be the first ones to play on UAE pitches. Needless to say that Indian players have very little experience on UAE pitches and that should be a huge factor in the first game.

Next comes the climatic conditions. As Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma pointed out, all the teams will mostly be playing day games. The temperatures will be well over 40°C and combating the heat is not going to be an easy task for the players.

This year’s IPL is the most unique one for obvious reasons and it is promising to be an intriguing one as well.
