The Supreme Court has passed an order that flights should leave the middle seat empty, for as far as they can. This is in order to prevent the spread of Coronavirus by maintaining distance between seats.
The DGCA has also requested all airlines to do the same. It further said that families could be seated together, and that protective wrap around gown should be given to passengers in case the middle seat has to be filled up.
The Indian Railways have also been permissions to run again, at a much reduced capacity. Interstate travel has also been allowed in a few states, and intercity transport has also been permitted.
These relaxations are all a part of the 4th and 5th phase of the nationwide lockdown, that aims at reviving India’s economy.
