Earlier, it was announced that this year’s IPL would go on undisturbed, and according to plan, despite the second wave of coronavirus devastating the country. However, following the fact that several IPL players have now tested positive, the current IPL season has been postponed indefinitely.

Sun Risers Hyderabad’s(SRH) Wriddhiman Saha in Delhi and Delhi Capitals’ (DC) Amit Mishra in Ahmedabad tested positive on Tuesday, while Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bowling coach Laxmipathy Balaji and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bowlers Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier, tested positive along with the ground staff at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Monday.

This has now forced the BCCI (Board fo Control for Cricket in India) to postpone the IPL season, prioritising the health of all the players in the various teams.
