The home minister of Andhra Pradesh, Mekatoti Sucharitha presented ‘Disha act’ bill in the assembly today and it was supported by both the opposition parties, TDP and Janasena.
According to this act, any person who physically assaults a woman will be taken into custody immediately. Special fast track court will hold investigation in this regard and the final judgement will be passed in less than 21 days.
Telugu Desam Party and Janasena MLAs supported this bill as soon as it was presented in the assembly.
Meanwhile, TDP leaders are fuming on YCP government, saying they are not being given enough prominence in the assembly.
