Review : 118

Nandamuri Kalyan Ram’s suspense thriller, 118 has created decent buzz among the audience with its impressive trailer. Directed by KV Guhan, the film has hit the screens today. Let’s check how it is.

Goutam(Kalyan Ram) a media journalist frequently gets a dream on a missing girl (Nivetha Tomas). In the process of tracing out the whereabouts the girl in his dream, Goutam finds out that she is Aadya. Who is Aadya? Is she really missing in the real world too? If so who are the culprits behind her missing story? How will Goutam solve the suspense puzzle in the story? To know this, you have to watch the film on in the theaters near you.

Cinematographer turned director KV Guhan has come up with a good concept and interesting storyline but his narration lacks proper depth in it. Though the suspense factor is handled decently through the film, crucial investigative scenes are not written in a gripping manner. Dialogues in the film are outdated and will not at all excite the audience.

Coming to the lead artists performances, Kalyan Ram did a decent job as an investigative journalist. Nivetha Thomas yet again impresses with her acting in the given crucial role. Shalini Pandey is cute in her role as Kalyan’s girlfriend.

Hari Teja as Aadya’s friend and Prabhas Seenu as Kalyan’s colleague are good in their supportive roles. Shekhar Chandra has done a good job with the background score.

Plus Points:

Film’s Concept

Suspense factor in the proceedings

Minus Points:

Slow Narration at parts

Villain’s character is not established in a convincing manner.

All in all, 118 is a good suspense thriller which will surely impress the audience who like crime dramas. But some sections of the audience may find it a bit slow at parts due to the film’s pace in the second half proceedings. Considering its genre, we have to see how it works out at the box office.
