Akkineni Nagarjuna’s romantic comedy, Manmadhudu 2, has created a positive buzz among the audience with its interesting promos. Helmed by Rahul Ravindran, the film has hit the screens today. Let’s analysis it.
Sam(Nagarjuna), a middle-aged man loves to lead his life with no strings attached. But due to the emotional blackmail from his family members, Sam unwillingly agrees to get married. In that process, Sam hires a girl named Avantika(Rakul) to act as his girlfriend and cheat his family. Rest of the story is to how Sam’s family reacts to Avantika and what changes happen in the bachelor life of Sam. To know this, you have to catch the film in theaters near you.
The ever-charming Nag looks fresh and impresses with his stylish avatar throughout the film. After all these years, Nag still manages to create a superb screen presence. He once again shines by carrying the given romantic role with utmost ease and grace.
Heroine Rakul Preet portrayed her role in an impressive manner. Her chemistry with Nag looks appealing on screen. Her performance in emotional scenes during the climax portion brings depth to the proceedings.
Not to forget, comedian Vennela Kishore makes a mark yet again in the given hilarious role. All his combination scenes with Nag have come out well and provide good fun. Senior actress Laxmi, anchor Jhansi, and Rao Ramesh did their part decently.
Coming to the directional skills of Rahul Ravindran, though the film is an adoption of a French film, he tried to re-create the magic by setting up decent premises in the first half. He completely banked on narrating the proceedings in an entertaining way in the first half. But the director struggles to maintain the same momentum in the second half as the film slows down with zero emotions which do not work one bit and sidetrack the film completely making the proceedings boring.
Nag-Vennela Kishore’s track
Rakul Preet Singh’s performance
Slow pace in second half
All in all, Manmadhudu 2 is light-hearted entertainer which offers hilarious fun only in parts. Nag’s charming looks and Rakul’s glamour will impress the youth but lack of proper drama and gripping narration in the second half will affect the box office prospects of the film and ends up as a below-average fare.
