Review : Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s prestigious project Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is one of the most awaited movies this season. Amidst huge expectations, the film has hit the screens today. Let’s analysis it.

As promoted, Sye Raa is the real-life story of the first freedom fighter named Narasimha Reddy, who hails from the Rayalaseema region. Being a king of Renadu area, the circumstances make Narasimha Reddy confront the Britishers in a big way? How will he fight against British rule? To know this, you have to catch the film in the theater near you.

Megastar Chiranjeevi should be appreciated for his passion and love for cinema. At the age of sixty plus, Chiru is still able to create magic on-screen with his positive aura. He has seriously put all his efforts to deliver a good performance in the given strong character.

Along with Chiru, the senior actor Amitabh Bachchan is good in the respectful Guru’s role. Actors like Kichcha Sudeep, Vijay Sethupathy are apt in their roles but their screen time is limited. Actor Jagapathi Babu gets a meaty role in which is impresses yet again.

Heroines, Nayanthara and Tamanna are decent in their roles. While Nayan gave a settled performance, Tamanna’s dance sequence in the second half is one of the major highlights of the film.

The highly authentic war sequences that come during the latter half of the film are shot lavishly. The last twenty minutes of the film is high on emotions and will impress the audience. The flag off scenes are picturized on an appealing note.

Plus Points:

Set work and VFX

Production values

Chiranjeevi’s performance

Minus Points:

Slow-paced first half

Lack of commercial elements

Weak direction

All in all, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is an inspiring patriotic drama that shines mostly due to the action part in the second half. Chiranjeevi’s majestic look as a patriotic fighter will impress the fans but a dull and flat narration in the first half and lengthy runtime make the film a one time watch during this festival season.
